How do I purchase buttons and tickets?
You can do so through our website, or at the First Night Office , 100 Main Street, 2nd floor, or at any of a number of button outlets throughout Vermont, starting December 1. Our “Pop Up” Box Office at Burlington City Arts, 135 Church Street, will open on Friday, December 1 or FlynnTix, 153 Main Street.
How much are the buttons?
Check out our general button information page.
What is the difference between a button and a ticket?
Buttons are required for every performance at First Night. Some performances, including select ones at the Flynn Center MainStage or FlynnSpace, require a ticket in addition to a button. All events are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Are buttons or tickets refundable? Something has come up and I can’t attend First Night after all.
Buttons and tickets are not refundable. You may donate your buttons and tickets back to First Night to pass along to people in need in our community, or simply find a friend to take your place.
What if the weather is bad?
First Night Burlington takes place regardless of the weather.
I’d love to go to First Night, but I can’t afford it this year. Is there a way to get a free button?
Yes. Please check out our Volunteer page. Volunteer for a three-hour shift and earn a First Night button that you can use all day, even before your shift.
Are there any free events?
Buttons are not needed for the fireworks displays at 6:45 pm and 12 midnight. Everyone is also welcome to join in the Dancing Dragons Parade at 6 pm along the Church Street Marketplace.
What are the hours for First Night?
First Night activities begin at 11 am and continue at 19 different venues throughout downtown, concluding with the Midnight Fireworks at 12 am to ring in the New Year.
What should I do with my children?
Bring them along, of course! We have many family friendly-events and performances for all ages.
I, or someone coming with me, has a disability. Will we be able to enjoy First Night?
All sites are wheelchair accessible and have handicapped parking available. ASL interpretation is also available for up to eight selected performances each year. Please call the First Night office at (802) 863-6005 if we can be of further assistance.
